Meet the Trainers

We have a team of expert and experienced trainers here at Upstart Projects.

Our team includes:

Idriss Assoumanou

Idriss Assoumanou

Idriss is a filmmaker based in Birmingham. He’s been film making for several years, creating content, making short films, delivering workshops and helping others with their projects. His passion is in directing and storytelling, having produced many projects and some award-winning shorts. His aim is to produce more films with diverse and unique stories about those who sometimes don’t get a voice to tell their own stories in their own way, and be as creative as possible and help others follow their creative passions.

Sam has been working with Voice and Upstart for seven years, and is an aspiring author…who can’t seem to actually finish writing anything! Since completing her undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, she has been working multiple jobs to fund her love for travel, and is constantly searching for new and exciting roles within the arts and charity sectors. With three years’ experience volunteering for and running a university-based suicide-prevention helpline, Sam is also a fierce advocate for mental health awareness. Outside of her many jobs and travel plans, she can usually be found dancing round the kitchen, or with her head buried in a good book.
