Idriss joined Upstart as a young journalist five years ago. He also joined our pool of young advocates for Arts Award and has been highly involved in many area of our work over the years. He is a freelance film maker, editor and producer working on and supporting a range of film & arts education projects; including training groups in using film equipment. He has worked extensively with Work In Progress based in Birmingham and can usually be found somewhere near a camera or edit suite.
Judy has worked across the cultural and education sectors for 20 years, developing creative learning programmes for young people, enhancing collaborative approaches between cultural organisations and schools, supporting youth consultation activity and managing research and evaluation frameworks. She is a lead trainer and project associate with us, including delivering our Voice Outreach programmes.
Judy is a national Arts Award senior trainer, moderator and support associate for Trinity College London. She works with a variety of arts and cultural organisations, creative practitioners and education leaders across the breadth of the arts. Judy works with Local Cultural Education Partnerships, leads on Arts Ambassador programmes with multi academy trusts, develops Teacher CPD and networks and supports schools through their Artsmark journeys across the West Midlands. . She is a freelance creative consultant with a deep passion for creative learning and opportunities for children & young people.
Sam is an aspiring author, theatre and dance lover, Liberal Arts student and total bookworm. When she doesn’t have her head buried in a book, you can usually find her cooking yummy vegan food, volunteering with various charities or planning her next trip! Sam is a prolific reviewer of arts on Voice Magazine, a leading voice reporter and a part of the team influencing Voice’s development.
Alice is a Dance graduate and has over 10 years’ experience working in events and with young people of all abilities. Alice regularly runs training and sessions to support arts development and mental health. Recently she has worked in consultancy and young people’s support for NHS commissioned services across West & East Sussex. Alice spent two years working on the Artswork national training programme for youth arts practitioners and eight years with the Isle of Wight Festival as an Artist Liaison and Young Volunteer Manager.
Sienna has been working with Upstart for over three years in a plethora of capacities including on our young advocacy team for Arts Award. She is the author of the recent Heritage and Creative Education series on Voice and is enthusiastic about all things museum and art-education. She is a student at Cambridge University.
Emrys has over 10 years in the youth and cultural sectors. He was a senior trainer with the Participation Works Partnership and has managed numerous training programmes for young people, cultural organisations and third sector organisations. He has extensive experience designing programmes of work with and for young people and currently manages the Arts Award Alumni programme. He’s a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Sadhana has been writing on Voice for under 3 years, after joining through Voice Outreach Young reviewer program at her local theatre. Since then, she has been reviewing New Creatives work, writing opinions pieces and a regular media column. She is writer and theatre maker, interesting in creative change-making around feminism and climate change. Sadhana is now a co-trainer for youth voice training.
Molly has recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University studying Music Performance, She has a passion for anything music related whether that be performing, listening to music or learning more about the industry itself, music has definitely become a huge factor of her life. Molly has been the Development Assistant for Voice as a Kickstarter, allowing her to have a helping hand in facilitating projects and collaboration with other kickstarters and other representatives from different organisations.
Olivia Wyatt is a recent graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University who studied Education Studies. Olivia has always been passionate about supporting young people in not only formal education but also education outside of the classroom and throughout life. Olivia was the Business and Projects assistant at Upstart Projects for six months and is now a Project Leader at Cloud Artisans where she manages a range of digital and engagement projects with a variety of charities, local authority and arts organisations.
